February 27 & 28, 1982

For this year's Jr Iditarod Race, the trail ran from Settlers Bay to Yentna Roadhouse at the big bend of the Yentna River. The distance once again increased, this time to 130 miles. At Yentna Station contestants were required to make an overnight layover and return to Settlers Bay on Sunday. Race Marshal was Rome Gilman who had, himself been a junior musher in this race a few years before.
