March 11 & 12, 1978

This is the only year that there were two divisions in the Jr. Iditarod, a Jr. Division and a Sr. Division. The stats for the Jr. Division show up under a "1977" race. The senior division was for mushers 15 though 17. Their trail went from Knik Lake to Flat Lake in the Big Lake sytem with a mandatory overnight layover at Flat Lake and then returning to Knik Lake. The total distance was approximately 40 miles. They were allowed 10 dogs. The race marshal was Jerry Crum. replica rolex
