2010 Jr. Iditarod Sled Dog Race

The 2010 Jr. Iditarod Rules and the 2010 Jr. Iditarod Policy along with the 2010 paperwork are on the Jr. Iditarod website (www.jriditarod.com) now.

Applications for the 2010 Jr. Iditarod are being accepted at the Iditarod office in Wasilla. Note that the entry fee for 2010 is $100 if paid by December 15, 2009 and $200 if not paid until after the 15^th of December. All required paperwork must accompany payment of entry fee. Entry fees will be accepted through 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010.

The 2010 Jr. Iditarod will begin on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. The young mushers will travel from the starting point to the turn around point at the Yentna Station Roadhouse where they will have a mandatory ten (10) hour layover before leaving for the finish line.

Lynden, the sponsor of the Jr. Iditarod, will award scholarships to the top five finishers and to the winners of the Humanitarian and Sportsmanship awards. Awards will be scholarshps in the amounts of  $5,000, $3,000, $1,500, $1,000 and $500 to the top five finishers and the two award winners will each receive scholarships in the amount of $1000.
